Fine Screened Compost can be used as a top dressing. As a soil amendment, 2-4 inches of compost can be added to any planting area and mixed into the soil. As a compost you should spread 1-3 inches deep on the top of the soil. Do not get the compost to close to the base of the plants, the compost get's hot and can burn the stems. Leave a half inch circle around the plants to avoid this.

The topsoil available at H&H is a recycled product. We accept soil and sod material into our facility, where it is then screened to remove any rocks or debris larger than a half inch in diameter.

Perlite has served the professional grower for many years, it can help the home gardener solve a multitude of common problems. In addition to promoting drainage and aeration in heavy soils including clay soils, perlite provides optimum moisture retention for successful plant growth. Perlite Makes moisture and nutrients readily available to plants and is organic and does not deteriorate. Perlite has essentially neutral pH of 6.5 to 7.5. It also serves as an insulator to reduce extreme soil temperature fluctuations. Perlite is sterile and free of weeds, disease, clean, odorless, lightweight, and safe to handle.
